Village Construction

The Village of Tiskilwa will be experiencing some construction in areas around the Village currently and upcoming months. We appreciate your understanding and caution around the Village during these times and we apologize for any inconvenience the residents may encounter.

 – Water Main construction is underway on Adams street and Brewster street. This work will eliminate a dead end spot and connect Adams Street to Brewster street. This work is currently underway and the plan is to have it completed within 3 weeks.

– Arch St pedestrian Bridge is planned to start construction within the next 2 months. During this time the pedestrian bridge will be closed off, removed, concrete repaired and set for a new bridge to be set in place. During this construction the Arch street Bridge will be closed off for crane work to be done on the pedestrian bridge. Once a more clear timeframe and frame of work for this project is set a post will be made about road closures.

– The sidewalk corner in front and around the Village post office will be torn up and redone to allow for proper drainage as well and making the sidewalk ADA compliant while also repairing the drainage basin at the corner. Plans for this work are to begin in October.

– Sidewalks on South State St are planned to be repaired from the repair work that had to be completed from the damage done from Metro Communications. This work is planned to be completed at the end of October or November.

– Concrete work to remove and repair the drainage basins on Washington St, sidewalks and the entrance into Numosh Park is planned to be done in November. During this time traffic to Numosh park will be altered and have the entrance coming in from Jefferson street to reach the parking area. More information about this project and entrance closure will be posted once closer to the set work time frame.

Roadway repairs will be awarded at the September board meeting on the 8th and work will begin in the middle of October. The roadways that will be repaired will be the curve on the west of Brewster Street in front of the township building, North side of North Street along the school, Owens street on the west side of Washington Street along with the the north side of west main street between Washington and jefferson.
